LAUNCHING OF THE ROAD SAFETY EDUCATION MODULES
The Fundacion MAPFRE has developed the teaching modules in support of the Project Road Safety Education (PRSE) which will be launched during the celebration of the World Road Safety Day on August 31, 2011 at the Bulwagan ng Karunungan, DepEd Central Office, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City. The highlight of the ceremony will be the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing and the formal turnover of the modules to the Department of Education (DepEd) by Fundacion MAPFRE.
The project aims to develop consciousness, awareness, and habits on road safety among the elementary school children through concepts integrated in the learning areas, namely: Heograpiya, Kasaysayan at Sibika (HEKASI) and Edukasyong Pagpapakatao (EP).
The modules will be implemented in selected schools all over the country. All identified regions, divisions and schools are enjoined to take full cooperation in the project implementation. The regions and divisions shall monitor the schools to ensure the appropriate implementation of the project.
