9th NATIONAL SCIENCE QUEST

The Association of Science Educators in the Philippines (ASEP) will conduct the 9th National Science Quest on February 3-5, 2012 at the Baguio City National High School, Baguio City.

The schedule of competition in the different levels are as follows:

1.         Division Level                   -     July-September 2011

2.         Regional Level        -            October-December 2011

3.         National Level        -            February 3-5, 2012

The competition aims to               promote academic excellence in science through
camaraderie and sportsmanship.

The participants in the different categories are the following:

Category Participant
Science Quiz and Sci-Dama • Regional first and second place winners for elementary pupils (Grades III-VI) and secondary students (First-Fourth Year) (Sci-Dama elementary parents and teachers will be assigned as water patrollers while the secondary parents and teachers will be assigned in Electro Sci-Dama from both public and private schools)
Science Fair •    First and second place winners, individual and group categories for Grades III-VI

•    First and second place regional winners, individual and group categories, Clusters 1 and 2 for secondary private schools

Science Intervention Materials (SIM) and Science Investigatory Projects (SIP) •  First and second place regional winners for elementary and secondary teachers from both public and private schools.
On-the-Spot Painting and Collage Making • First and second place winners for elementary and secondary teachers and students from both public and private schools
Elementary and Secondary Robotics Dance, Sci-Cheer, and Tugsayawit • First and second place regional winners (with Science Implications)
Ginoo at Binibining Kalikasan Search • First place regional winners for elementary and secondary levels from both public and private schools

The coaches, advisers, regional and division supervisors, assistant chiefs, school heads and other science enthusiasts are invited to attend this activity.

Each participant shall be charged with a registration fee of Two Thousand Four Hundred Pesos (PhP2,400.00) to cover expenses for board and lodging, honoraria of judges, certificates, medals, trophies and other miscellaneous expenses.

All regional science supervisors and ASEP Officers should be at the venue on February 1, 2012 for the finalization of the Terms of Reference (TOR).
