58th TEFLIN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
The Institut Keguruan Dan Ilmu Pendidikan Pgri Semarang in Java, Indonesia will hold the 58th Teflin International Conference with the theme “Language Teaching and Character Building” on November 3-5, 2011 at the Ikip Pgri Semarang, Jalan Sidodadi Timur No. 24, Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia.
The conference aims to: 1) look into the English Language Curriculum and its potency to include character building; and 2) establish the consequences of the character building in language teaching methods, materials and testing.
The conference will explore issues related to language learning and character building. The topic areas include the following:
1) concepts of character building;
2) methods and material development in character based language;
3) trends in the linguistics study of English for science and technology;
4) courses assignments and evaluation;
5) role of Information Tchnology (IT) in language teaching;
6) literature and culture in language teaching; and
7) translation in language teaching.
The participants to this event are educators worldwide. Invited speakers will come from Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, and the United States of America (USA).
The registration fee is Rp. 850.000 or equivalent to US$ 100. This includes morning and afternoon teas and meals. The participants are advised to book to hotels near the venue ten days before the conference.
Dr. Suwandi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, invites all interested participants to submit paper/workshop proposals of not more than 250 words with a title of not more than twelve words and a 50-word biodata.
