PHILIPPINE INDIGENOUS TRIBAL GAMES: MAN A-AYAM FESTIVAL
The Linangan Kultura Produksyon will host the Philippine Indigenous Tribal Games: Mananayan Festival on October 2011 in Baguio City with the following event:
1. Man A-ayam (Sportsmanship);
“Indigenous Tribal Games”
Archery competition using traditional bow and arrow, javelin spear throwing, blowpipe competition, foot race, and dug out canoe race
2. Talyaw (Glimpse); and
A glimpse on Indigenous People’s (IP’s) dance and music performances, arts and crafts demonstrations, lecture-demostrations on indigenous games, and sales exhibits
3. Pabuya (Exhibit).

The activity aims to: (1) bring together different cultural communities in the Northern Philippines through sports; (2) preserve traditional culture; and (3) introduce to modern society, especially to the youth, the indigeneous peoples as important members of the community highlighting their role as guardians of natural biodiversity.

SUPER KIDS 2011 CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION
The Primetrade Asia, Inc. in partnership with Potencia, Inc. will hold the Super Kids 2011 Conference and Exhibition with special topic on Children and the 21st Century on September 16-17, 2011 at the Function 3, 3rd Floor SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
The conference and exhibit aim to:
(1) enhance the learning and teaching strategies of the participants so that they can work better and become more effective facilitators of the children in their journey through the path of life; and
(2) highlight issues on early childhood and parenting, that impact on the development of today’s young Filipino learners. The two-day event wll feature new insights, ideas and learnings that will enhance and hone the strengths of parents, teachers and adults who work with children.

CORY, THE MUSICAL STAGE PLAY
The St. James College of Quezon City will hold the first musical play entitled “Cory, The Musical” on August 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., Meralco Theater, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City.
The musical focuses on the love story of Cory and Ninoy Aquino on how their love for each other blossomed and became a source of strength amidst the many challenges which their family have faced. It also presents the beginnings of a couple who were later hailed as icons of Filipino freedom and democracy.
The high school and college students are invited to watch the play.

The National Association of Public Secondary Schools of the Philippines (NAPSSHIL) in coordination with the Bureau of Secondary Education (BSE) sponsored the Scholarship Program as announced in DepEd Advisory No. 47, s. 2011 dated February 1, 2011 and DepEd Advisory No. 123, s. 2011 dated March 15, 2011.
The competitive examination was conducted nationwide on April 17, 2011. Listed below are the names, regions, and the corresponding ratings of the successful applicants:

The Private Secondary School Administrators Association of the Philippines (PRISSAAP) will hold its 15th National Administrators Congress with the theme “Crystalizing the Administrators’ Role in Raising Educational Standards: Knowing Beyond the 2010 SEC Implementation, K to 12 Reform, and UbD Framework Adoption -A Must for School Leaders,” on August 4-6, 2011 at the Royal Mandaya Hotel along J. PROJECT TEACH-4-U: TEACHING FOR UNDERSTANDING
(A Three-Module Seminar-Writeshop)
The Center for Continuing Education and Educational Leadership (CCEEL) of the Philippine Normal University (PNU) will hold the Project Teach-4-U: Teaching for Understanding, a three (3) module seminar-writeshop for basic education teachers on three (3) weekends: July 30-31, August 13-14 and August 27-28, 2011 at the PNU Cafe, HRD Building , PNU, Taft Avenue, Manila.
The seminar aims to focus on the development of contextualized Understanding by Design (UbD)-based instructional guides for various content areas across levels.
